Do you want to make a difference in the life of an at-risk student? Are you a creative and energetic person that is good at working with 1-8 grade students? Are you looking for part-time work that can make a full-time difference in the life of a young person?

If so, then we have a great opportunity for you!

We provide FREE tutoring to at-risk students in failing schools in California. The students we work with are on free and reduced lunch, and attend a school that has failed to make their test scores for consecutive years.

We use engaging, hands on activities to teach reading and math. Our tutors work with a group of six (6) or fewer students using curriculum and material that we provide, which stresses teamwork, imagination, and critical and creative thinking skills.

Interested candidates must have at least 60 credit hours and be able to commit to the after-school schedule at one of our tutoring sites.

In the program, tutors will learn:

* Strategies to teach specific reading and math skills
* Strategies for team building
* Behavior modification techniques
* Classroom management skills
* Innovative collaborative teaching strategies

* Grades & Subjects: Brain Hurricane tutors 1st through 8th grade students in reading and math.
* Multiple Levels of Intelligence: Our program is based on scientific research, and teaches the 'whole child' taking into account multiple levels of intelligence.
* Good Money: Earn $20+ per hour.
* Do Good: Help at-risk students in failing schools. Brain Hurricane's tutoring program is free to these students.
* Flexible Schedule: Work 2-5 days per week during after-school hours (between 2PM – 6PM, depending on the school). Work 4-8 hours per week for approximately 10 weeks.
