Description

Collie - Large - Young - Female - Dog - Tess
Description
Tess is being fostered by a retired veterinarian. She was turned into the shelter for euthansia by her owner due to having a seizure, her third in three years. She had her first seizure in rescue 4 months later.UPDATE:Tess was evaluated by a Neurologist, diagnosed with Epilepsy and is now taking the anticonvulsant Potassium Bromide. So far it appears that her seizure frequency is low, perhaps only three times per year. Her adopter would need to deal with this as it happens. Tess also has hip and elbow dyplasia which causes her to walk slowly and have a sore back. We are trying Acupuncture and supplements to help repair her damaged joints. She will need a quiet adult home, with walking lightly her main form of exercise.Tess is extremely well behaved, very playful with other dogs and loves cats. She is an easy dog to live with, and will make a wonderful companion. We have many wonderful collies awaiting adoptive homes. Please visit our website SOUTHLAND COLLIE RESCUE to find out more about Collie Rescue and to view all available collies.
