Maltese - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - GIZMO
Description
GIZMO is an affectionate little guy who has obviously has had a hard time of it. Here is his story as we know it told by his present foster mom of Hesperia, CA. " Rescued from a local kill shelter by a kind volunteer for another high desert shelter, Gizmo was placed in the secondshelter where he remained for another two months. Under severe stress in the shelter system, he developed a means of shutting down for self protection by constantly moving around, sometimes circling, and not focusing on humans who tried to interact with him. It was thought because of this behavior that he was deaf, therefore narrowing his chances for adoption. I don't believe this is the case as he responds to his name and other sounds now that he is in a calm environment. "Gizmo is housebroken and gets on well with other dogs but mainly needs the companionship of a loving and kind hearted person to fulfill his needs. He enjoys a daily walk, loves to lay outside in the shade (probably a result of being lock up for so long), has to be near his human companion to watch TV and sleep at night. It breaks my heart to think of what his life must have been like before but now he is safe and loved and waiting for that special someone to spend the rest of his days with. If you have the love and patience and a giant soft spot for the underdog....please consider little Gizmo. He is an angel." More pictures coming soon. For some reason, Gizmo is extremely camera shy! Please go to our Homepage and read about our program. If you are interested in meeting GIZMO, please fill out our Application for Adoption, which is easily accessed, filled out and submitted right on line. Thank you for wanting to adopt a homeless pet.
