1999 VW Passat, rated 28MPG, , Automatic, 6 cylinder, well maintained in really good condition- $4200.00 OBO
Exterior- Sun roof tinted and works perfectly in closed, open or vent position. Body in good condition. No scrapes, rust or dents. Body trim good. Chrome and moldings good. Bumpers good. Tires good. VW hub-caps good. No cracks in glass or mirrors. Windows tinted. All lights, turn signals, brake lights, backup lights in good functional shape. Windshield wipers in good shape.
Interior- Black leather seats with no cracks or worn areas. Side impact air bags factory installed in both front seats as well as typical front air bags. All interior chrome shiny in good shape. Wood burl trim in rear and front doors and console in good shape. Push-button heated seats for cold weather. Carpeting inside and in trunk in good shape, not worn. VW “Passat” rubber floor mats, front and rear, protect carpeting. All door panels good. Rear seat back-rest easily folds down flat to make continuous rear to trunk floor if needed. No cracks in dashboard. Built-in wood burl retractable cup-holder.
Interior attributes- Air conditioning will freeze you out and the heater will thaw you out. Excellent CD stereo and speakers with no distortion at high volume. Lighted mirrors in visors. Sun-roof control and lights overhead. Console folds up or down. Power windows and keyless entry which unlocks driver’s door or all doors and trunk. Trunk spare tire in good condition.
Mechanical/Electrical- Similar to Honda’s popularity for its long-lasting engines, VW engines are made to go 250-300K miles and this is no exception. The very powerful yet economical engine takes off like a rocket from a dead start with a very smooth transition through its perfect 5 speed transmission. It was smogged as required within the past few weeks with Co2, etc. being so low as to be non-existent. Smog results with vehicle. Brakes are perfect and will stop you in a straight line with your hands off the wheel. Freeway driving is a pleasure as the Passat does not drift at all with your hands off the wheel, it hugs the road and stays straight, and has an incredible passing gear. It downshifts automatically at slower speeds without using your brakes.
General- It’s nice enough to be used for business or personal use. It looks really nice at night with the lights on and the interior lights on the doors and instrument cluster are absolutely beautiful. I would not sell my car knowing of a major defect without getting it fixed first.
Reason for selling- The only reason I am selling the Passat is because I have too many cars. It’s a great car and you can trust my word that there are no major defects unrevealed to you. I am not a dealer and this is our personal car.
